The folks at Slingshot Coffee introduced a sixty-four-ounce cold brew in a box and we think it’s a thing of beauty. The box’s design is clean and modern, and according to owner Jenny Bonchak is a “continued testament to our personal style” that “incorporates a playful pattern and a simple, but eye-catching color palette”. It certainly caught our eye, and we think it’s a carefully considered object of cold convenience that’s absolutely perfect for anytime—not just summertime.
As told to Sprudge by Jenny Bonchak.
When did this cold brew container debut?
The Slingshot Box launched in late December 2015/early January 2016.
Who designed the package?
Our longtime friends and design partners, Good South, designed the package.
What coffee information do you share on the package? What’s the motivation behind that?
Like all Slingshot packaging, we share the origin of the coffee, the date the coffee was brewed, and the flavor profile of the coffee.
What *type of package* is it?
The Slingshot Box is a fully-recyclable bag-in-box package.
How is it packaged? Is there any sort of special treatment to the cold brew once it’s in the space bag?
The Slingshot Box contains eight servings of Ready-to-Drink Slingshot Cold Brew that you can have on-tap in your refrigerator whenever you want it. Every Slingshot Box is packaged by hand, and we expel oxygen before sealing with an airtight tap.
Where can I pick one up?
You can find the Slingshot Box (and other Slingshot coffees and our Cascara Tea) at select Whole Foods locations and independent retail partners up and down the East Coast. We will be launching into NYC this summer, as well.
How much does it cost?
The Slingshot Box retails for $14.99 in most places.
